Everyday Sexism sent us this brief - might be of interest to some readers.
Since 2012 Everyday Sexism has worked both on and offline to fight sexism and demand change on a global scale. Now present in 15 countries, it provides a space for ordinary women to share their experiences of gender bias in everyday life. With 50,000 twitter followers and over 50,000 website hits a month, Laura Bates, the founder, was listed in the top ten most important modern feminists by UK Huffington Post readers.
Now to the competition –
Simon & Schuster and the Everyday Sexism Project are looking for an exciting new design talent to submit a cover design and help create a jacket for the forthcoming book. Past covers for books which explore the issue of gender discrimination (and may have felt current and pioneering at the time) now seem staid and unimaginative, so we’re looking for bold and courageous submissions in keeping with the uniqueness and innovation of the project itself . We’re looking for a design that represents the thousands of women who are #shoutingback and we want you to help us create the perfect jacket to represent this movement and this exciting new extension of the project. This brief requires your boundless imagination. There are no rules: be creative and please be different. We’re looking for a jacket with commercial appeal that will make people want to pick up the book and read about this incredible project.
Please send submissions to:firstname.lastname@example.org Deadline Date: Wednesday 17th July
